A Victorian Home this Christmas
When looking at doing my own Victorian Christmas this year, and how to achieve it, It quickly became apparent that two things were very much the focus. The decor and the food!
Got the food sorted, so on to the decor., the main focus in this area is the Christmas tree. Got that sorted to! Please check out my blog post on How to Decorate your Christmas tree the Victorian Way. All that’s left is for me to figure out how I’m going to do the rest of the house, less was definitely more in those days. (Fine by me!)
Mostly the Victorians decorated simply and with evergreens
and seasonal plants. I.E Holly, Mistletoe. Pinecones and Poinsettia.
Keeping it simple
I thought that I’d just concentrate on the stairway and the fireplace. Both would look great with a traditional garland. Wanting to create most of the decs for the tree and house myself I thought I’d make the items I needed.
Happily, I picked up some fabulous Christmas picks from our local Christmas store. Choosing to go for the plastic kind rather than the real ones, not only where these cheaper but they would last the whole of December and are less messy!
I have been able to find some for you over on Amazon and have linked below.

The process
you will need to measure the area you want your garland for.
Then I got to work and glued the Holly together make sure that leaves continue in a line end to end.

I then tied round the poinsettia and Pinecones to the middle and covered up the gap. I’m sure you will agree it made for a fantastic garland, and very affordable.
